About Ayirah J. Adair

Ayirah J. Adair is a student with dreams of making writing her full-time career and publishing her first novel. She lives in New York while attending community college as an online student, and spends most of her time writing stories, sharing updates about her life in her early 20s, and finding people who can relate to her.

Her stories center on Black girls who shine, and heart-throbbing plots that leave your chest tight and your heart a little sore. She loves writing emotional, character-driven stories about love, growth, and becoming.

In her spare time, Ayirah loves to laugh, read, and write in her journal—something she’s been doing religiously since the age of 12. Her favorite quick snacks are a cup of lemon-ginger green tea and a large bowl of popcorn. She’s a die-hard Avatar: The Last Airbender fan, and loves watching shows like Gossip Girl, Scandal, and Love Island.

Growing up with six sisters, sisterhood is something she holds very close to her heart, and it shows up in both her life and her stories. In the future, she hopes to travel beyond Brooklyn and connect with readers through her newsletter—people who see themselves in her words and feel a little less alone.
